The challenge

Utterspace is a small startup in stealth mode that needed branding work, a wireframe, and user flow to introduce the brand concept. Without saying too much, the product combines real estate, investing, and bidding — with a dash of technology.

The approach

Distill a genuinely complex marketplace into pathways a homeowner, an investor, and a contractor can each follow without instructions.

Brand identity

Brand design

The Utterspace logo is a visual embodiment of the brand's innovative approach to the intersection of real estate, investing, and technology. The design hinges on the simplicity of a house silhouette within a pinpoint location marker, symbolizing precise and strategic real estate placements. A deep blue conveys trust, stability, and professionalism.

Negative space creates the house's outline within the marker, cleverly combining property and location into one seamless icon. The typeface is modern and clean, suggesting a forward-thinking and efficient approach that aligns with the startup's technological edge.

Product design

UI & UX design

The UX/UI design was constructed on the principle of seamlessly integrating the intricate elements of real estate, investing, and bidding into an intuitive digital interface — instinctive for homeowners, investors, and contractors alike.

Central to the design philosophy was clarity. A minimalist layout with generous whitespace alleviates cognitive overload, with clear pathways for posting listings, making investments, offering contracting services, and locating homes. Color coding and visual indicators create distinct routes per user type while preserving one brand aesthetic.

Interactive features such as bid sliders, investment toggles, and a flowchart-based home search foster engagement. The wireframes were designed to be scalable, so the product could evolve without sacrificing its foundational simplicity.

Web experience

Marketing site & product interface

The public-facing site carries the brand into a product story: a deep-blue environment, high-contrast headline typography, and live data cards that show the platform tracking a deal from acquisition through close.

Layouts were built mobile-first so the same hierarchy — positioning line, headline, proof metrics, primary action — holds from a 4-inch phone to a wide desktop screen.
